This 4 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari is an interesting primate safari that is designed for tourists who have a short period of time to travel. The safari will take you to Kibale forest national park where you will be able to spot chimpanzees and other primates like grey cheeked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, baboons among others. The 4 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari will also take you to Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will have a face to face encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas and spend one hour with them in their natural habitat.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the 4 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is located in south western Uganda. It’s a whole day journey and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will take photos and buy craft souvenirs. From the Equator you will proceed with another stopover for en-route lunch. Upon arrival in Bwindi impenetrable national park, you will continue to check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the trekking trails. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park takes about 2 to 6 hours and during trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species, plants among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their behaviours, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, take photos and record videos.
After the one hour with the gentle giants, you will meet up with your driver guide and either drive back to the lodge or go for an interesting Batwa cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the batwa, learn about their way of living, enjoy their entertainment among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale forest national park
On the third day of the 4 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale forest national park. On the way you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and then continue the journey to the park with great views of the beautiful landscape, countryside, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands among others. Upon arrival in Kibale forest national park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Kampala

After an early breakfast on the last day of the 4 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated an experienced park guide and start trekking in the forest in search of chimpanzees which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located because they like to move from one area to another in search of food. Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment which helps you to watch them feed, play, fight, hunt, rest, learn about their habits, take photos and record videos.
After the one hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and start the journey back to Kampala with enroute lunch on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
