This 5 days gorilla trekking and habituation safari is an exciting safari that will take you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south western park of Uganda. During the safari, you will have the opportunity to engage in an interesting nature walk, a cultural tour, and a gorilla habituation experience, where you can spend time with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on location in Entebbe/ Kampala on the first day of the 5 days gorilla trekking and habituation safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will take photos, buy souvenirs and continue the journey with another stopover for en-route lunch. Upon arrival in Bwindi national park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days gorilla trekking and habituation safari, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla habituation briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes a whole day. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species, plants among others and once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend four hours with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn and observe their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, engage in the naming process, take photos and record videos. After the encounter with the gentle giants, you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast on the third day of the 5 days gorilla trekking and habituation safari, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the mountain gorillas are located. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species, plants among others and once the mountain gorillas are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, take photos and record videos. After the encounter with the gentle giants, you will return back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Guided nature walk and Batwa cultural tour
On the fourth day of the 5 days gorilla trekking and habituation safari, you will have breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to go for an interesting nature walk in the park where you will get up-close and personal with different wildlife species, enjoy stunning views of the landscape, waterfall among others. After the nature walk, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for a cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa people, learn about their habits, behaviors, way of living, visit their homesteads, enjoy traditional entertainment among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 5 days gorilla trekking and habituation safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer back to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise depending on your schedule.
