How to get to Mgahinga gorilla national park; Mgahinga gorilla national park is the smallest national park in Uganda covering a total area of 33.7 square kilometers. The park is located in southwestern region in Kisoro district bordering with Volcanoes national park in Rwanda and Virunga national park in Congo. When using road transport means, tourists will drive from Kampala or Entebbe via Masaka, Mbarara, Kabale, Kisoro and then connect to Ntebeko park headquarters which takes about 9 to 10 hours’ drive in a 4 WD safari vehicle.
Mgahinga gorilla national park can also be accessed from Buhoma sector in Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive.
You can also access Mgahinga gorilla national park from Kibale forest national park through Kabale which takes about 6 to 7 hours’ drive and Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive.
Mgahinga gorilla national park can also be accessed from Kigali Rwanda whereby tourists will fly to Kigali international airport and then connect to the park headquarters via Cyanika border which takes about 3 to 4 hours’ drive.
Tourists can as well access Mgahinga gorilla national park by public means of transport in that there are various bus companies like horizon, jaguar, Bismarkan among others that operate daily trips from Kampala to Kisoro town therefore upon arrival in Kisoro town, you can hire a taxi to the park headquarters because there are no public means of transport to Ntebeko park headquarters. We however do not recommend use of public means of transport to Mgahinga gorilla national park because it’s not convenient, tiresome and time consuming as the buses make multiple stopovers along the way hence we recommend using a tour company like Achieve Global Safaris.

Scheduled flights to Kisoro airstrip depart from Entebbe airstrip at 07: 00am in the morning at arrive at 08:00 am while return flights depart Kisoro airstrip at 08:25am and arrive at Entebbe international airport at 11:25am.
